Privacy Policy
1. Who we are and how to contact us
This Privacy Policy explains how the “My Teeth: Diary” app handles user data. For privacy, data deletion, backup, or app questions, contact: myteethsupport@gmail.com.
2. Main data principle
The app follows a local-first approach: dental data is manually created by the user and stored on the user’s device. The app does not require mandatory registration by email, phone number, or social account. The developer does not store the user’s dental history on its own server.
3. Data the user may enter
The user may manually create profiles and subprofiles, choose a dentition set and tooth numbering system, enter a date of birth, tooth and object statuses, events, dental records, personal notes, expenses, reminders, and other information for a personal dental archive. This data may relate to health, so the user should treat it as sensitive information.
4. Data the app does not collect
The app does not collect dental data for advertising, does not sell user data, does not send dental history to analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not use user data for AI diagnosis, image analysis, or medical recommendations. The current version does not use a proprietary backend to store dental history.
5. Local storage and deletion
Core app data is stored locally on the device and remains the primary source of data. If the user deletes a profile, clears history, or deletes the app, corresponding local data may be lost. iCloud Drive backups may remain after the app is deleted and must be removed separately through the app or the Files app.
6. Backups
The app supports two independent backup methods. A portable manual file is created with a user password and passed through the system share menu for saving to Files, email, a messenger, or another selected location. In app versions where iCloud Drive backup is available, the app automatically creates protected backups without a user password in the app’s iCloud Drive folder. The app checks backup freshness after profile creation, when it launches, and when it returns to the foreground; when possible, a new backup is created no more than once every six hours. iCloud Drive availability is controlled by the user in Apple system settings. This is file backup, not live synchronization between devices, and an exact background schedule is not guaranteed.
7. External services and cloud storage
iCloud Drive backups are stored in the user’s personal storage through Apple services and are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The developer does not receive these files on its own server and has no remote access to the user’s iCloud Drive. If the user manually saves or sends a backup to Files, Google Drive, email, a messenger, or another service, further processing is governed by that service. File availability, retention, download, and deletion depend on the device, Apple, and services selected by the user.
8. Notifications
The user may create local reminders for events. Reminders are used only for records selected by the user. The app may request the system notification permission. Local notification content does not require sending dental data to the developer’s server.
9. Photos and files
In the current version, the app may request access to the photo library only by user action, for example when the user wants to attach an image or screenshot to a support request. Photos and files are not used for automatic analysis, diagnosis, medical recommendations, or advertising.
10. Feedback
If the user sends feedback, a bug report, or a feature request through the device email client, the developer receives only the information the user chooses to send. Technical information about the device and system may be added to help reproduce an issue. The user should not send sensitive medical data through feedback unless it is required to describe the issue.
11. Security
The app uses local storage and system mechanisms for files, notifications, and backups. A portable manual file is protected by the user’s password. An iCloud Drive backup is stored in the app’s protected format using standard cryptographic mechanisms and can be restored by a compatible app version without entering a user password; it is not represented as end-to-end or user-specific encryption. The user is responsible for protecting the device and Apple Account with a passcode, biometrics, and other available security measures.
12. Children and family profiles
The app may allow subprofiles, including for a child. Such data is created and controlled by the device user. If the user maintains a child profile, they must have the right to create and store such records, understand that these records may be included in the main profile’s backup, and remain responsible for keeping backups secure.
13. Medical disclaimer
The app is a personal archive and is not a medical device, clinic, diagnostic service, or substitute for medical advice. The app does not diagnose, analyze images, or provide medical recommendations. Treatment decisions should be made with a qualified medical professional.
14. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s features, backup methods, or platform requirements change. The current version is available on this page.
